God with His own Hands

Monday, July 6th, 2009

For those of you, who have not been convinced that God kills, let me shed a light into your understanding. He killed him. Who killed him? God did. “And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.” 1 Sam. 25:38. Remember, as God owes it to Himself why He gives life so also He owes it to Himself why He takes it away. During the time when the ark of God was at the house of Abinadab, it came to a certain time when the ark was to be moved to Jerusalem. Two sons of Abinadab Uzzah and Ahio were required to guide the cart as it went on its way to Jerusalem. “And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.” 2 Sam. 6:6-7. What is God telling us? I thought Uzzah was trying to help! Is this an error or a helping hand? Is God saying that Uzzah should have left the ark to fall? But because Uzzah held the ark from falling, God killed him. Can you find the justification of God’s action?
